Faculty of Dental Sciences,SGTU conducts an Oral Health Screening Program at CMM Sr. Sec. Public School, Dujana, Jhajjar.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University conducted an oral health screening program on 14th November 2022 (Monday) at CMM Sr Sec Public School, Dujana, Jhajjar. The Dental team took initiative to celebrate the National Children’s Day with the school children to spread positive oral health on this day.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Shourya Tandon (Head of Dept & Associate Dean) in collaboration with the SGT Admissions Marketing Team. The Department of Pedodontics and Orthodontics also collaborated with Public Health Dentistry for the outreach activity.

The Dental team was headed by Dr. Charu Khurana (Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with 2 postgraduates Dr. Neha Yadav (Postgraduate Pedodontics) and Dr. Tanvi Dagar (Postgraduate Orthodontics) and 5 Interns Tanisha Gupta, Savari, Shweta, Swati, Shalley, Shivani and 2 attendants Mr. Rajkumar and Mr. Darshan. A total of 395 students from classes Prep till 12th were examined which included 222 boys and 173 girls. Along with students, oral health examinations were done for some of the parents, Teachers and supporting staff in the school. Health Education was imparted regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through brushing techniques, models and charts. An oral health talk session was taken by Dr. Charu Khurana where she mentioned about the adverse oral habits, oral hygiene importance, ill effects of tobacco consumption. The purpose of the Oral Health drive was to create awareness among the students and make them understand the importance of oral health care. Students who required dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental hospital for further treatment.
