The faculty of Physiotherapy organized a Sports Assessment Camp at, V.P.O. Nakhrola as a small gesture to give back to the sports community.
Under the direction of Dr. Sajjan Pal Assistant Professor and Dr. Aditi Assistant Professor, the camp was organized by a group of passionate graduates and postgraduate sports physiotherapy students.
The camp’s major goal was to raise awareness about the role of physiotherapy treatment in preventing and treating a variety of major injuries during sports.
A total of 50 athletes were counseled, including zonal, state, and national level players.
All players of crickets, soccer, kabaddi, and football were given a complete evaluation, which included a flexibility test, balance assessment, as well as sports specific physiotherapy training, which included exercise prescription, group training, warm-up, and cool-down techniques, endurance training, and modalities as needed. The team gave detailed explanations to the players about the injury prevention techniques for various sports.
Where necessary, players were also encouraged to seek treatment at the SGT Medical College, Hospital, and Research Institute.
Players were sent home with the message that while medications may heal the majority of their issues, exercise will prevent their injuries and improve their game performance
