Department of Forensic Sciences, under the Faculty of Sciences, organizes seminars on ‘Difficult Cases of Forgery and Disguise

The Department of Forensic Sciences, under the Faculty of Sciences, SGT University, organized a seminar on ‘Difficult Cases of Forgery and Disguise.
The Keynote speaker was Dr. Reeta Rani Gupta, the Senior Scientific Officer (Question Document Division) with CBI-Delhi.
Dr. Gupta said many people can forge a signature, and copy handwriting for unethical reasons, whereas human intelligence fails to identify the change in handwriting.
She further said that in such difficult cases, special analysis, fathom knowledge including techniques are required which can be acquired from practice and understanding of various aspects.
Interacting with students, Dr. Gupta explained the complexity of questioned document cases with the help of live examples.
Dr. Reeta Rani Gupta also gave live examples and the latest advancements in the tools and techniques being used in the cases of forgery and disguise. This helped the students to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field of questioned documents. Dr. Gupta cited a few cases solved.
