SGT University associate professor bags outstanding scientist award

Dr. Sonia Goel, Associate Professor of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences honored with outstanding Scientist award at the International Conference on Agriculture, Horticulture and food science organized by the Society of Tropical Agriculture held on 29th and 30th December, 2021 at Simla, HP, India. This award was given to her for her contribution in the field of research in the area of Agricultural Biotechnology for production and supply of improved quality seeds and planting material to farmers. She has done pioneering work on enhancing the quality and yield factors of crops specially wheat. Dr Sonia has a long list of influential publications and presentations in the field of crop improvement.
Through teaching, research collaboration, and lectures, she has worked especially hard to promote Agricultural biotechnology research and policy for crop improvement in the SGT University in collaboration with ICAR institutions. She has also received numerous honors in the past, but no doubt for her, the most important thing is her capacity to enhance the societal awareness of crop biotechnology.
