SGT University hosts the ‘Amrit Kaal Vishwa Vidha Vishwasit Bharat @2047’, shedding light on the increasing role of the knowledge economy in the world, as stated by Sumanta Dey

SGT University conducted the ‘Amrit Kaal Vishwa Vidha Vishwasit Bharat @2047’ program, featuring Mr Sumanta Dey, Senior Director of Corporate Affairs and Public Policy, as the chief guest.

 

During the event focused on ‘Tech and Transition: Emerging Skills and Opportunities @2047,’ Mr Sumanta Day emphasized India’s continuous strides on the path of development amid several challenges, along with numerous possibilities. He highlighted issues such as climate change, rising problems due to technology, imbalance in biodiversity, job scarcity caused by robotics, and other concerns affecting the youth of India. He stressed the necessity of collaborative efforts to address these challenges effectively. Mr Dey discussed the need to enhance the skill set of the youth in various sectors like 3D printing, mobile design, graphic technology, human social services, IT, digital, and cloud computing, as these sectors offer immense opportunities. He also mentioned emerging sectors such as web tech, e-commerce, fitness, entertainment, logistics, internal security, textile graphics, and language technology, where there will be a continuous demand for skilled individuals. In his address, Mr Sumanta Dey referred to the concept of the knowledge economy, highlighting its growing significance globally. He emphasized that it’s not just about what one does but how the tasks are executed, encouraging teamwork among the students at SGT University. He highlighted that good results come from collaborative efforts and feedback, contributing to the advancement of the knowledge economy. The program concluded with a Q&A session where Mr. Dey responded to students’ queries. When asked about the digital gaming sector, he expressed optimism about India’s progress in global competition in the field within a couple of years due to joint efforts by central and state governments. Responding to an agriculture-related question, he advocated for the development of hydroponics techniques to enhance crop production without excessive water and fertilizers. The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr O.P. Kalra, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Vikas Dhawan, Dean Academics Prof. Rajesh Kumar Sinha, along with several officials and students from SGT University. Dr Radhika Rai extended a warm welcome to the guests and attendees.
