SGT University Inaugurates Atal Community Innovation Centre, Paving the Way for Inclusive Innovation

Gurugram, 22-Nov: SGT University marked a historic milestone as it inaugurated the Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) on the 22nd of November, ushering in a new era of innovation, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment. The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Dr Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director, AIM, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, alongside Mr. Ajai Garg, Retd. Senior Director, MeitY, Govt. of India, as special guest.

The inaugural event commenced with great fervour, showcasing the ACIC’s commitment to innovation through a startup expo and the launch of a marketplace, presenting pioneering concepts and solutions. The ceremony commenced with the traditional lamp lighting and prayers, followed by a warm welcome address by Prof. O.P. Kalra, Vice-Chancellor of SGT University. Distinguished speakers shared their insights and visions for ACIC, with Mr Ajai Garg delivering an inaugural message that highlighted the significance of fostering innovation ecosystems. Dr. Chintan Vaishnav’s keynote address emphasized the importance of design-aware societies and the role of ACIC in nurturing human-centric innovations.

Dr. Sunny Agarwal, CEO of ACIC, extended heartfelt gratitude in the vote of thanks, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the guests and participants. The event concluded with the launch of networking opportunities, fostering collaborations among attendees. ACIC at SGT University stands as a beacon of innovation, striving to cultivate design-aware societies capable of creating impactful and meaningful innovations. Through its commitment to core design principles and localizing sustainable development goals, ACIC aims to democratize innovation, providing financial support, physical space, and mentorship through grants and partnership programs.

The centre aims to create an enabling ecosystem for scalable enterprises by unlocking the leadership potential of the youth, fostering social impact-driven systems, and offering opportunities for everyone to innovate irrespective of age. ACIC’s core objectives include nurturing creativity and entrepreneurial opportunities among students, researchers, and faculty members, supporting cross-community learning, capacity building in evolving technologies, and designing scalable solutions for innovative offerings.
