SGT University Launches International Exchange Program with Utah Tech University

SGT University has taken a significant step towards enhancing global academic collaboration by officially launching its International Student Exchange Program in partnership with Utah Tech University, USA. The inauguration ceremony welcomed 13 students from the Faculty of Nursing and 2 distinguished faculty members, marking an important milestone in SGT University’s mission of academic excellence and international engagement.

The event was attended by the university’s top leadership, including Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Poornima Baliga Bantwal, Deans, Associate Deans, faculty members, students, and international relations officers. The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, a symbolic tribute to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom. Dr. Reshu Sanan, Additional Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, warmly welcomed the visiting guests and participants, setting a gracious and respectful tone for the day.

In her keynote address, Prof. (Dr.) Poornima Baliga Bantwal highlighted the transformative power of cross-cultural exposure, especially in the context of integrated medicine. She emphasized that collaborative learning across various healthcare systems can significantly enhance holistic patient care and deepen understanding of global health challenges.

Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma stressed the importance of international academic partnerships in today’s interconnected world, noting that such initiatives are crucial for nurturing global perspectives among future professionals. Guests were given a warm Indian cultural welcome with marigold garlands, symbolizing unity and respect. The session continued with introductions of the visiting faculty and students from Utah Tech, along with faculty members from SGT University’s Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Indian Medical System (Ayurveda), and Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sunil Kumar Dular, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and contributors.

A special note of appreciation was given to Mr. Shadman Bashir, L.L.B, L.L.M, for his tireless efforts and vision that made this program possible. His role in bridging academic ties between the two institutions has set the foundation for meaningful and long-term collaboration.
