SGT University organizes oral health screening camp at Jatauli village

The Department of Public Health Dentistry of Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University, conducted an oral health screening and treatment program on Wednesday at Jatauli village.

The initiative was taken under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon, Head of the Public Health Dentistry Department.

The team was headed by Dr. Abhinav Bhargava, a senior lecturer.

Four postgraduate students – Dr. Madhur (Periodontology), Dr. Ankush (Oral Surgery), Dr. Alisha (Prosthodontics), and Dr. Prachi (Endodontics), and 4 Interns (Ridhima, Tejas, Udita and Saksham) accompanied Dr Bhargava.

Two attendants Sunil and Raj Kumar also accompanied the team.

The camp started at 10:20 am and continued for nearly four hours.

Seventy-two patients were examined, out of which 11 were provided dental treatment in the mobile dental van, which included two restorations, one extraction, and eight oral prophylaxis/scaling.

Patients who required complex dental treatment were referred to SGT University for further procedures.

Oral health education was imparted to the people, and proper brushing technique was demonstrated.

The purpose of the Oral Health check-up was to create awareness among the community and understand the importance of oral health care to have a healthy nation, said Dr Shourya Tandon.
