Fire Breaks Out in Garib Rath Express Engine at Sendra Station, Passengers Safe

In the early hours of Saturday, around 3 A.M., a fire broke out in the engine of the Garib Rath Express at Sendra Railway Station in the Beawar district of Rajasthan. The incident caused panic among passengers, but fortunately, there were no casualties, thanks to the quick and alert action of the loco pilot.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the engine, which they immediately informed the train driver about. Without hesitation, the loco pilot brought the train to a stop, allowing all passengers to evacuate safely before the flames could spread to other coaches.

The fire brigade from Beawar responded promptly and began firefighting operations upon their arrival. Simultaneously, teams from the Railway administration and engineering department reached the site to assess the damage. Nearby trains were halted at other stations as a safety precaution.

According to officials, the fire caused significant damage to the train’s engine, but no injuries were reported. Initial investigations suggest that a possible technical fault or a short circuit may have caused the fire. A detailed inquiry has been initiated to confirm the exact cause of the blaze.

The damaged engine is currently being removed from the tracks, and restoration efforts are underway to resume normal rail traffic on the affected route. Officials estimate that it may take a few hours to fully restore operations.

A Railway spokesperson stated, “All passengers are safe, and alternative arrangements are being made to help them reach their destinations.” Authorities are also expected to review and strengthen maintenance protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.

This incident has underscored the importance of quick decision-making in emergencies, and the loco pilot’s presence of mind is being widely praised for averting what could have been a major tragedy.
