Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University organized an oral screening and treatment camp

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University
organized an oral screening and treatment camp on 13th May 2023 (Saturday) at the village
Bibipur, Nuh in association with the Faculty of Medical Sciences and Publicity team.
The dental team was headed by Dr. Meenakshi Chopra (Reader, Dept. of Public Health
Dentistry) along with 2 postgraduate students Dr. Angel (Dept. of Oral Surgery), Dr
Khushboo (Dept. of Endodontics) and 4 interns Diksha, Livanshi, Mumtaz, Lakshay and
Asha. Mr. Sunil (Attendant) accompanied the dental team.
A screening of 65 individuals including 38 males and 27 females from different age groups
was done, 26 patients were provided essential treatment which included partial oral
prophylaxis and extractions in the mobile dental van at the campsite. Feedback was obtained
from many patients post-treatment. Complex cases requiring advanced treatment were
referred to SGT dental college. All patients were given yellow slips to get the treatment on
discounted prices.
Residents of the community were given a health talk that focused on the value of keeping
good oral hygiene and the contribution of nutrition to maintaining good oral health. At the
encampment, medications such as analgesics, antibiotics, and multivitamins were also
distributed. Interns and Post-graduates put up a tremendous amount of effort and enthusiasm
to fulfil the activity’s goal.
