Faculty of Dental Sciences organized a dental check-up and treatment camp at Tiranga Park, Dayanand Colony, Gurugram

A dental check-up and treatment camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry,
Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University on 10th May, 2023 (Wednesday) at Tiranga Park,
Dayanand Colony, Gurugram along with CanWinn Foundation. The entire arrangements of this
camp was done by Rotary Club of Gurgaon South City. Mr. Pawan Sapra was instrumental in all
the arrangements and organization of the activity.
The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Associate Dean,
Prof. & Head, Dept. of Public Health Dentistry). Dr. Charu Khurana (Reader, Dept. of Public
Health Dentistry) headed the dental team along with 2 postgraduate students Dr. Gaurav (Dept.
of Oral Pathology), Dr. Preeti (Dept. of Prosthodontics), 4 BDS Interns Mansi, Mumtaz, Komal
and Amit and Mr. Darshan (Attendant). Dental checkup of 62 individuals including 24 males and
38 females from different age groups was done.
A total of 18 patients were provided treatment (Oral prophylaxis and extractions) in Mobile
dental van at camp site. Different Oral Hygiene Aids like Toothbrushes, toothpastes, oral
mouthwashes and also medicines were distributed to the attendees of the camp according to their
needs. Positive feedback was obtained from all the patients. All queries regarding treatment
needs were addressed and were demonstrated brushing techniques and appropriate oral hygiene
practices. The patients were also given referral slips and were referred to SGT University for
further needful treatment.
The purpose of the dental camp was to create awareness in the community and make them
realize the importance of oral health for a better quality of life.
