CBSE Board Result 2024: No Divisions, No Toppers, No Percentages

Waiting eagerly for their CBSE Board results, around 38 lakh students are in anticipation. Expected to be released in May, the CBSE Class 10th and 12th Board results come with some significant changes announced last year.
In a departure from the norm, CBSE will no longer categorize students into first, second, or third divisions based on total marks. Additionally, distinctions and overall percentages won’t be disclosed. This decision aims to foster healthy competition among students, eliminating the stress associated with rankings and percentages.
Furthermore, the merit list will not be published, aligning with CBSE’s goal to reduce result-related anxiety and promote a supportive environment among students. This move away from numbers-driven competition is a welcome change, replacing it with a focus on holistic learning and growth.
Universities and employers will assess candidates based on their performance in the core subjects rather than relying on overall percentages. This shift aims to encourage a more comprehensive evaluation of students’ abilities beyond numerical achievements.
In essence, CBSE’s new approach prioritizes student well-being and holistic development over traditional metrics, fostering a more supportive and inclusive educational environment for all.
