Faculty of physiotherapy, SGT University organized one day Academic excursion for MPT Neurology students to “The Child” sector 46, Gurgaon

Association of Neuro Rehabilitation under the Faculty of Physiotherapy, SGT University organized one-day Academic excursion for MPT Neurology students to “The Child” sector 46, Gurgaon on 24th April 2023. A total of 22 students of MPT 1st year and 2nd year visited this center along with the faculty members: Dr. Saurabh (Assistant Professor, FPHY), Dr. Aarti Gupta (Assistant Professor, FPHY), Dr.
Vinika (Assistant Professor, FPHY) & Dr. Sajjan Pal (Assistant Professor, FPHY). This organization provides speech therapy, parent counseling, individual psychotherapy, ADHD treatment, and Autism assessment and includes an inclusive therapy program. This visit was aimed to teach and improve the student’s knowledge about neurological assessment and different intervention strategies to treat pediatric patients with different conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, down’s syndrome, pediatric SCI, and spina bifida. We also aimed to teach the students about patient care ethics and patient handling while treating pediatric patients in a multidisciplinary manner. The officials of the center involved physiotherapists followed by speech therapists, occupational therapists, special educators,  and so on. They gave us information about how they handle their patients and how they prefer multifaceted treatment intervention programs to treat them and
improve their social independence. They also introduced us to the different types of equipment they use for children’s benefit. Also, students interacted with different patients as well as their therapists and gained knowledge.
