Guest Lecture On ‘Changing Dimensions Of Media Reporting’ Held In SGT Varsity
The faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology in the SGT University organised a guest lecture on ‘Changing Dimensions of Media Reporting.’
Ms Vibha Sharma, Special Correspondent in Delhi Bureau of The Tribune, was the keynote speaker.
Addressing media students, Ms Vibha Sharma said that a good journalist always presents the correct picture of the things because delivering facts is important in media. She said that credibility is the very foundation of media. She further noted that newspapers have more credibility than television because words printed in the newspapers remain there for eternity and can’t be erased. During her address, she indicated major changes in journalism in the present era.
Ms Vibha Sharma shared her experiences of reporting with the students. She said that television journalism is more attractive than print journalism, but print journalism presents in-depth information and enjoys more credibility.
At the beginning of the programme, Dean, Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology Prof. Sushil Manav welcomed the key speaker Ms Vibha Sharma, faculty members and students. He gave a brief introduction of Ms Vibha Sharma and highlighted her work in reporting. At the end of the programme, a question-answer session was organised. The programme was moderated by BJMC Semester 5 students- Lokbhadra Singh and Bhavya Pandey. Associate Professor SK Pandey gave the vote of thanks. The programme was conducted at Shooting floor, A Block of the SGT University.
