SGT University’s Bhumika Singhal Shines at Johns Hopkins University, Opening New Doors for Medical Research Collaboration

Bhumika Singhal, student of MBBS Batch-2017 in the faculty of medicine and
health sciences at SGT University have been selected for a research elective in
the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University – Baltimore – USA. She
is the first student from SGT University to be selected for Johns Hopkins following
which the name of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, SGT University has
been registered and successfully added to the Slate Portal of Johns Hopkins
University. The University can now get affiliated with Johns Hopkins University
and more students can apply for Clinical research electives at Johns Hopkins
University from SGT University in the future.
Bhumika Singhal has been actively involved in research activities and
publications since 3rd year of MBBS under the guidance and mentorship of Dr.
Akriti Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT and Deputy
Dean of Research from Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, SGT University.
Bhumika was made the head of the student research group at the Faculty of Medicine
and Health Sciences, SGT University in 2021. She was also awarded Rs.
50,000/- from ICMR when her Short Term Studentship Project report got
approved.
Bhumika Singhal’s achievement has brought great laurels to the Faculty of
Medicine and Health Sciences and SGT University and she has made her Dean
Dr. SPS Kochar, teachers, and fellow students were very proud.
