Varsha Khangwal, a senior officer of the Haryana Civil Services, presently posted as Additional Director, Information Public Relations and Languages Department, has penned a book titled ‘In The Name Of Love And God’.
On Monday, she presented a copy of her book to Dr Amit Agarwal, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Haryana and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department.
‘In The Name Of Love And God’ has a mystical quality with the poems centering around life, love, death, friendship, spirituality and presents a different perspective towards life, sometimes seen as a rebellion.
At the core of the poem is faith in the Almighty, an incessant search for the true self, human values, and indefatigable spirit of man.
Nature and its elements are the metaphor for the sentiments of deep love and longing.
Varsha Khangwal is a postgraduate in History from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and was awarded the gold medal for securing the first position in MA.
She was selected to the HCS in 2004, and again she topped in her batch.
She has served in various capacities, her most important assignments being those in the departments of education, agriculture, social welfare, tourism and information and public relations, Haryana and Chandigarh Administration.
Her husband too is a civil servant.
She has two children and lives in Panchkula.
Asked how does she find time to write poems amid her busy schedule in the office, she says she starts writing when all others at home are asleep because that is the best time when one can give wings to one’s imaginations.
