Monsoon Set to Intensify Over Haryana; Heavy Rain Likely from June 27

Gurgaon, June 25, 2025 — The southwest monsoon is set to intensify over Haryana in the coming days, bringing widespread rainfall across the state, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

On Tuesday, Gurgaon recorded a maximum temperature of 36.5°C and a minimum of 26°C. Light to scattered rainfall is expected today, but heavier downpours are forecast starting June 27, particularly in Ambala, Jind, Kaithal, and Kurukshetra.

 

The wettest day is anticipated to be June 27, with over 75% of weather stations in Haryana likely to receive rain. Moderate showers may occur on June 28, while rainfall is expected to decrease in the western districts, such as Sirsa and Fatehabad, by June 30.

 

The IMD’s latest bulletin also noted the advance of the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) through parts of Barmer, Jaipur, Agra, Karnal, and Halwara, indicating active monsoon conditions.

Meanwhile, Delhi experienced a hot and humid day with a maximum temperature of 36.1°C and a feel-like temperature of 44.3°C. Only drizzles were recorded in areas like Najafgarh and Mungeshpur, while the central Safdarjung station received no rain.

 

Humidity in Delhi ranged from 66% to 91%, and the Air Quality Index (AQI) improved to 95, which is considered satisfactory. Relief from the heat is expected on Wednesday, with temperatures likely to drop to around 33–35°C.

 

The IMD has advised local authorities to prepare for possible waterlogging in urban areas on June 26 and 27Farmers are also encouraged to adjust their schedules according to this monsoon forecast.
