SGT University Hosts “Higher Education Leaders Conclave 2025” on Reimagining Indian Education Under NEP 2020
To mark five transformative years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, SGT University, Gurugram, hosted the Higher Education Leaders Conclave 2025 on July 25. The event was organized in collaboration with the University of Lucknow, University of Jammu, Vinoba Bhave University, and the Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna.
Held under the theme “Reimagining Indian Education: Legacy, Policy, and Nation-Building in the Light of NEP 2020,” the conclave brought together over 40 distinguished academic leaders, including vice-chancellors, institutional heads, and policy experts, to discuss educational reform, innovation, and future readiness.
Keynote and Launch of SGTU Online
Padma Bhushan Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, Chancellor of SGT University, inaugurated the event with a powerful message:
“Freeing education from bureaucracy is essential for complete reform.”
He also launched the UGC-entitled “SGTU Online” platform, a major milestone that aims to make quality, learner-centric education accessible to all, continuing SGT University’s 23-year journey of innovation.

Valedictory Session & Book Launch
The Valedictory Session was led by Shri Najeeb Jung, Former Lt. Governor of Delhi and Chairperson of the Advanced Study Institute of Asia (ASIA), SGT University. In his address, he emphasized:
“Technology and policy alone cannot transform education. We must nurture compassion, moral grounding, and the teacher-student bond.”
He further stressed the need to bridge infrastructure and faculty gaps in rural and underserved regions.
The event concluded with the launch of “Educating India: Colonialism and Indigenous Knowledge Traditions, c. 1780–1900,” a scholarly work by Prof. Amit K. Suman, Kirori Mal College, DU, offering deep insights into India’s educational legacy during colonial rule.
