‘Kashi Film Festival’ got off to a colourful manner

Known for its rich values and culture for centuries, a new saga is set to be started in Kashi this week as there will be 3-day Film festival programme starting from this evening

The festival will not only have glance of Hindustani classical music and dance but will also refresh the memories of famous philosopher poets, writers, musicians and the Banaras Gharana.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the UP Minister of State for Tourism, Culture, Charitable Affairs, Protocol, Dr Neelkanth Tiwari “Said that through this festival people will come to know the rich culture of this glorious city more closely. 

  He said after dedicating the rejuvenated Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the Prime Minister showed his affection towards the Kashi.

It was one of his many endeavours like repeal of Article 370, women empowerment, health facilities and various schemes for poor such festivals will further showcase the cultural heritage of Varanasi. 

Famous stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava said that the proposed film city would be a milestone for new and old talents like him.

 Later, he tickled the ribs of the public at Sampoorn anand stadium with a live performance while noted singer Kailash Kher mesmerized the audience with his songs. 

 Dream Girl Hema Malini’s performances will also make the event memorable.

 It is for the first time that such a Film Festival is being organized in the city of Lord Shiva. The festival is being organised with collaborating Film Bandhu, the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, the Government of India. 

Presentation of Manoj Joshi at the International Cooperation and Convention Centre in Varanasi also attracted the audience.

Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, will be the chief guest of the Kashi Film Festival on December 28 in Varanasi.

 During this, a panel discussion will be organized from 10:30 am to 12 noon on the topic “Varanasi – Journey from a Cultural, Mythological and Historical Heritage to a Modern City”. The topic of discussion of the second panel will be based on ‘Music and Geet – Virasat of Banaras’ with timings from 12:30 PM to 02 PM. 

Subsidies will also be distributed at the closing ceremony at 04 pm.

On Thursday evening famous film star Hema Malini will entertainment the audience with her cultural presentation which will be held at the International Cooperation and Convention Centre in Varanasi. 

A panel discussion will be held on December 29 on the topic “Uttar Pradesh as an important centre for film production and the potential of regional cinema”. And the evening will mark the closure of the first-ever film festival in Kashi with an offering by singer Ravi Tripathi and actor Ravi Kishan.
