NCRTC Proposes ₹15,000 Crore RRTS Corridor Linking Gurugram, Faridabad & Greater Noida
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has proposed an ambitious Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project aimed at connecting Gurugram and Greater Noida through Faridabad and Noida. According to an official communiqué shared with the Haryana government, the proposed 60-kilometer corridor will operate independently of existing and upcoming projects, such as the Delhi-Gurugram RRTS and the Delhi-SNB corridor.
The high-speed train system is designed to run at a maximum speed of 180 km/h and is projected to cost around ₹15,000 crore. NCRTC has sought formal approval from the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC) to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the route.
A senior HMRTC official confirmed that the proposal was discussed in a recent meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. “The proposal is under serious consideration, and the Haryana government is committed to supporting this project to improve regional connectivity,” the official stated.
The proposed RRTS will feature six strategically located stations. In Gurugram, the route will begin at IFFCO Chowk near Sector 29, followed by another stop at Sector 54 along Golf Course Road. The corridor will then enter Faridabad, with planned stations at Bata Chowk and the intersection of Sectors 85 and 86. From there, it will proceed into Noida, stopping at the intersection of Sectors 142 and 168, and finally terminating at Surajpur in Greater Noida, where it will connect with the Ghaziabad-Jewar airport corridor.
NCRTC has also requested the Haryana government to form a monitoring committee composed of representatives from relevant departments to expedite the project’s approval and development process.
In addition to this proposed corridor, NCRTC is actively working on other large-scale transit projects. These include a 102-kilometer corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to SNB via Gurugram, expected to begin in August 2026 and conclude by November 2031, at a cost of ₹35,000 crore. Another ongoing project is a 136-kilometer corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to New Karnal, estimated to cost ₹34,000 crore.
If approved, the Gurugram-Faridabad-Greater Noida corridor will represent a transformative step in strengthening the region’s high-speed public transit infrastructure and easing intercity travel across the National Capital Region (NCR).
