New innovative ideas can bring tremendous results: Prof. Dinesh Singh

“Tremendous results will come to the fore when students of various departments will come up with fresh, new, and innovative projects through their teachers”, said Prof. Dinesh Singh, former Vice-Chancellor, Delhi University, during an interactive session with the faculty members of SGT University on Thursday.

Prof. Singh is presently Director of CLICK (Centre for Lateral Innovation Creativity and Knowledge) at SGT University.

Prof. Singh said that gone were the days when teachers used to teach their students on the blackboard, but in the new era, the teachers must understand the importance of practical work which must be included for better understanding of the students, and CLICK will ensure that the project of the students gets the right direction.

Prof. Singh gave many examples to the faculty members of SGT University of how under-graduate students of Delhi University who were asked to come up with innovative ideas and many ideas got selected for multi-crore projects.

Keynote Speaker Mr. Najeeb Jung, former Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi, said that there are so many fields where SGT University can work. Giving an example Mr. Jung said that there are many water bodies near SGT University, and with the help of faculty members and students they can conduct research on vegetation, life, and other parameters of such ponds, using underwater drones to explore more.

Mr. Najeeb Jung, Prof. Dinesh Singh, and Prof. Madan Chaturvedi, an eminent researcher from Delhi University also answered many questions of the faculty members.

Prof. OP Kalra, Vice-Chancellor, SGT University, Prof. Vikas Dhawan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (academics), Prof. Rajneesh Wadhwa, Dean, External Affairs, SGT University, and faculty members from the various departments were present during the interactive session.
