Raja Iqbal Singh Set to Return as Delhi Mayor

In a major political development for the capital, Raja Iqbal Singh, former mayor of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD), is all set to reclaim his position as the Mayor of Delhi, following the AAP’s decision to not field a candidate in the current race.

A seasoned leader with a legal background, Singh is contesting from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is now poised for an uncontested win. Known for his past contributions to improving civic services in North Delhi, Singh has assured citizens that this term will focus on cleaner streets, stronger sanitation, improved healthcare, and a firm stance against corruption.

Singh’s return marks a comeback for a leader with deep administrative roots. “We’re committed to making Delhi shine again,” Singh stated, hinting at sweeping reforms in waste management and public health infrastructure.

His unopposed run reflects a shifting political scenario in the city, as AAP’s absence from the contest has cleared the path for BJP to retain control of key municipal posts.

The new term is expected to focus on revamping civic services and delivering visible changes across the capital. With rising urban challenges, citizens will be closely watching this administration for accountability and delivery.
