Senior journalist Hemant Atri address students of Mass Communication on Contemporary Journalism and Challenges

SGT University on Saturday organized an expert lecture on ‘Contemporary Journalism and Challenges’.

Mr. Hemant Atri, former State Information Commissioner, Haryana, and former political Editor, Dainik Bhaskar was the keynote speaker.

Mr. Atri said that from the year 2018, onwards multiple changes occurred in the media especially after social media came into existence. He explained to students the difference between being a journalist and the responsibility they have like information should purely on the basis of facts and to educate the masses. He also shared his views on job challenges, credibility, and fieldwork.

He said that students of Journalism and Mass Communication need to identify which specific field they will select and a specialization course in their selected field will ensure their bright future.

Mr. Atri gave an example of a worldwide survey being conducted on the challenges journalists are facing. He said that the results are shocking in that more than 40% of journalist answers were credibility and job crisis.
