SGT University Hosts International Kho Kho Course Level III-A 2025 with KKFI & IKKF

SGT University in Gurugram, through its Faculty of Physiotherapy, successfully hosted the International Kho Kho Course Level III-A 2025, in collaboration with the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) and the International Kho Kho Federation (IKKF). The event took place from June 2 to June 15, showcasing the university’s commitment to promoting indigenous sports through advanced academic and scientific training.

 

The course was conducted in two phases: the first phase, from June 2 to June 11, focused on training 52 advanced-level coaches from India and abroad; the second phase, from June 12 to June 15, catered to over 120 technical officials. Participants from countries including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Australia, England, Korea, UAE, and Malaysia joined their Indian colleagues in this pioneering effort.

 

Shri Gaurav Gautam, Hon’ble Minister of State for Sports in Haryana, praised SGT University during the inauguration of the second phase. He remarked, “Kho Kho is more than just a game—it promotes both physical and mental health while being inclusive and accessible.”

 

Prof.. (Dr.) Hemant Verma, Vice Chancellor of SGT University, emphasized the initiative’s significance in professionalizing Kho Kho through ethical coaching, biomechanics, and sports science. Mr. Sudhanshu Mittal, President of KKFI and IKKF, highlighted SGT’s contributions, stating, “With facilities like physiotherapy, nutrition, and yoga, SGT is helping to elevate Kho Kho to the global stage. Our goal is Olympic inclusion by 2032.”

 

The curriculum included modules on biomechanics, sports psychology, ethics, doping awareness, Basic Life Support (BLS) training, and injury prevention. Expert sessions were conducted by Dr. Pooja Bhati, Dr. H.V. Nataraj, Dr. Jaganjyoti Das, and others. Written and practical assessments culminated in the awarding of the Level III-A Certification to successful candidates.

 

Dr. Sajjan Pal, Head of Sports, and Dr. Pooja Anand, Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy, praised the initiative for its contributions to injury prevention and the synergy between academics and sports.

This event reinforces SGT University’s leadership in interdisciplinary sports education, elevating the stature of Kho Kho and enhancing India’s presence in the global sporting arena.
