SGT University Mass Communication student bags first prize in news reading contest during Media Fest at Chandigarh University

Tannu, a student of the final year of BJMC of SGT University has bagged the first prize in the news reading competition during Media Fest organised by Chandigarh University this week. The Media Fest organised by the Institute of Mass Communication, Chandigarh University saw the participation of a large number of students from various universities of the country.

Tannu has been an active news anchor with SGT Times, a News Channel launched by the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, SGT University, Gurugram.

SGT University Gurugram provide platforms like SGT News Channel, SGT News Portal and SGT Podcasts to its students where they can showcase their talents and learn new things.

Talking to The SGT Times News Portal, Tannu said, “This is my first achievement and all the credit goes to SGT Times which helps me face camera and built confidence that I can to do it and it is just the beginning there are more miles to go. I express my gratitude to Professor Sushil Manav, Dean, Mass Communication and Media Technology, SGT University, Gurugram for his support and guidance also thank him for grooming me as a news anchor. I also express my gratitude to all other faculty members technical team in our University for their constant support. I dedicate this award to all the students of journalism and mass communication”.

“In the end, I express sincere thanks to the Management of SGT University, Gurugram, for providing us such a wonderful infrastructure where students can learn what other students normally get to acquire once they join the Media industry,” she added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Trishu Sharma, Director, Institute of Media Studies said on social media stating that SGT University students were doing a commendable job in news reporting.

He said that the news bulletins being done by these students is good work.
