SGT University organises Oral health camp to mark Mothers Day

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University conducted an oral health screening and treatment camp in collaboration with the SGTU publicity team on Sunday at Model Town, Gurugram.

The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon Head of Dept & Associate Dean, the team was headed by Dr. Charu Khurana Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, and Dr. Kevin Postgraduate Periodontology, Dr. Saumya Postgraduate Orthodontics, and Dr. Chhavi Post Graduate Prosthodontics along with five Interns and two attendants Mr. Rajkumar and Mr. Sombir.

A total of 89 patients including 39 males and 50 females were examined out of which 25 patients were provided treatment in the mobile dental van which includes 24 oral prophylaxis, 4 permanent restorations, Toothpaste and mouthwash were also distributed to the needy patients. Patients who required complex dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental Hospital for further procedures. Oral Hygiene Instructions and information on common dental diseases were imparted to all the attendees of the camp.

Mothers Day was also celebrated by the team by congratulating all mothers attending the camp and also making them aware of oral hygiene maintenance, especially for small children.

All the patients gave positive feedback and appreciated the check-up and treatment provided by the Dental Team. The purpose of the Oral Health check-up was to create awareness among the community and make them understand the importance of oral health.
