SGT University organizes Dental camp for destitute women’s shelter homes in Sultanpur

Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University, organized a dental camp at Sultanpur, near the shelter homes of underprivileged women from poor economic backgrounds. The camp was organized keeping in mind the spirit of “World Oral Health Day” and helping the community.
In this camp, about 50 specially-abled women were examined for their dental health and they were also given necessary advice and tips to keep their teeth healthy. A street play was also organized to spread awareness of oral hygiene along with that dental care products were distributed.

Dr. Shourya Tandon, Head, Public Health Dentistry Department, SGT, said that it is important to take care of teeth because healthy teeth are an integral part of developing good hygiene and personality, and they also play a big role in maintaining physical health.
He advised the participants against the consumption of sugar, tobacco, alcohol, smoking, etc. as these cause a lot of damage to the teeth.
Dr. Tandon also highlighted that this event was part of a series of outreach activities by SGT University that also include: a dental health check-up and workshop organized at Divine Dale International School in Pataudi on the 15th and 17th of March where around 350 school children and teachers participated.
