Water Crisis in Delhi: 12-Hour Water Supply Disruption in Several Areas

New Delhi: The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has announced that due to essential maintenance work, water supply will be disrupted for 12 hours in various parts of the city on September 20. The disruption will take place from 11 AM to 11 PM.

Affected areas include:

  • Civil Lines

  • Hindu Rao Hospital

  • Kamla Nagar

  • Shakti Nagar

  • Karol Bagh

  • Paharganj

  • Old and New Rajendra Nagar

  • Patel Nagar (East and West)

  • Baljeet Nagar

  • Prem Nagar

  • Inderpuri

  • Certain parts of the Cantonment areas

  • Regions around NDMC and South Delhi

The DJB stated that the interruption is necessary to repair a leak in a 500 mm diameter rising main connected to the Chandrawal Water Works, located within the premises of Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to use water judiciously during this period. The DJB has also made arrangements for water tankers, which will be available upon request through their helpline or central control room.
