SGT University organises workshop on developing research ecosystem

The SGT University organised a UGC Sponsored on “Developing Research Ecosystem and Setting Research and Development Cell in Higher Education Institutions” on Monday.
Dr OP Kalra, Vice Chancellor of the University, inaugurated the workshop.
Vice chancellors and other senior functionaries of several universities of the country participated.
Addressing participants, Kalra emphasised the need for more budget for research activities in universities. He gave examples other countries like Korea, Japan, and Israel, where, he said, the governments were spending much better research and development purposes.
Earlier, Prof RC Kuhar, Pro Chancellor of the University, welcomed the guests and threw light on objective of today’s workshop.
Kuhad said that with the new education policy to be implemented soon, there is need to invest more in research.
