Students showcase flair as Telent@SGT concludes in SGT University

The Faculty of Mass Communication and Media technology organized, Talent@SGT 2022, in collaboration with the office of students’ welfare on November 21 and 22. Students from all the 18 faculties of the university were invited to participate and showcase their talent. This event aimed at bringing forward bright young minds, and skills and encouraging students to pursue them.  The categories for the competitions were dancing, singing, poetry/shayri, Rapping, stand-Up comedy, creative writing, painting, playing musical instruments, mono acting, and many more. These categories were divided between 21 and 22 November.

 

The event began with the integration ceremony by the Vice-chancellor of SGT University, OP Karla. Prof. Madan Chaturvedi, Provost, also addressed the audiene. He gave an inspiring speech at the beginning of the event, emphasizing how much important it is for students to recognize and cherish their hidden talents. On the first day of the competition, activities like singing, stand-Up comedy, Mono acting, creative writing, painting, and classical dancing were held. Starting from the melodious sounds of singers to the heart-touching mono-acting of the young artists, made the audience experience a roller coaster ride of emotions. Peals of laughters and claps from the audience not just motivated the participants but also added to the beauty of the event. Pens and brushes left a mark on the papers. Their art depicted the wide imaginations of the students.  Classical dance performed by the dancers proved that Indian culture is still breathing with full life and joy in our country. ‘Laughter is a medicine and the universities’ stand-up comedians made the audience laugh so loud proving how true the statement is. With the heart-wrenching mono-acting by students who gave a visual of different sides of human nature, and society. Activities for the first day rested.

 

On the second day of the event, students performed Bollywood dances, recited poetry/shayri, rapped, and played musical instruments. A fashion show at the end of the show was a treat to watch. Contestants set the stage on fire, with their grace and charm which made the audience jump from their seats. Various poetries and Shayari were delivered by the students, which left the spectators in awe. Poems and shayri had a perfect blend of words and emotions which left a mark in the heart of the audience. After all these blasting performances Fashion shows in the end, still managed to steal the stage.  The theme of this show was Zodiac signs. All the participants carried their outfits and makeup according to the zodiac signs they were representing. The beauty of the models and the uniqueness of the dresses stole the heart of the judges and the audience.  A question-answer round was also held, where all the contestants described their creatively unique outfits. From the emotional pieces to earthy Capricorn, from feisty Aries to curious Geminis, Every sign was displayed amazingly and aptly.

 

After all, these amazing and thrilling performances winners were announced for each activity. A trophy and a certificate were awarded to all three winners of each event. Prof. Vikas Dhawan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, gave away the prizes. Prof. Sushil Manav, Dean, Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, Dr Vijay Sharma, Dean, Students’ Welfare were among those present. The event was coordinated by Mr. Biswambhar Bose and Ms. Monika Sharma.

This event truly proved to be the most exciting and wonderful one. All the participants by displaying their talents showed us the passion and love they have for their hidden skills, and how motivated they are to grab any opportunity they get.
