Renowned author, and Vice-President of AXP Balance Sheet Reconciliation, American Express, Deepika Chawla, was the guest speaker at the event.

The Women Leadership Lecture Series is an integral part of SGT University’s mission to empower women and create a more conducive work environment for their growth.

During her address to the participants, Deepika Chawla emphasized the critical issues of gender parity and the gender pay gap in the corporate world. She urged women not to be afraid to be themselves, to stand up and speak their minds, and to be vulnerable. Additionally, she encouraged women to acquire the skills necessary to compete in the challenging corporate environment. She then delivered a presentation on the five ways to create a personal brand, which are as follows:
• Know who you are – what are your core values?
• Have a mentor.
• Contribute without expecting returns.
• Have the courage to ask for what you want and speak for yourself.
• What’s your story?

Also, Dr. Waheeda Khan, Professor & Advisor, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, said that there are 50 percent of women from faculty, non-faculty, and students, at SGT University, an impressive feat.

Overall the event was a roaring success that inspired and motivated the women participants – encouraging them to trust in their abilities and face challenges.
Also in attendance were Dr. Rajneesh Wadhwa, Dean, Office of External Affairs, and Rajeev Gulati, Adviser, SGT University, and the members of the Central Coordination Cell.
