The Department of Public Health Dentistry conducts an oral health screening program.

Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University conducted an oral health screening program on 6th December 2022 (Tuesday) at Mata Daan Kaur Public School, Najafgarh, Delhi. 

The Dental team was headed by Dr. Charu Khurana (Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with 2 postgraduates Dr. Sakshi (Department Pedodontics) and Dr. Priyanka (Department Oral Medicine and Radiology) along with 6 Interns Tanisha Gupta, Shweta, Sanal, Swati, Samridhi, Savari and 1 attendant Mr. Sunil. A total of 667 students from classes Prep till 10th were examined which included 390 boys and 277 girls. Along with students, oral health examinations were done for some of the Teachers and supporting staff in the school. Health Education was imparted regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through brushing techniques, models and charts. 

An oral health talk session was taken by Dr. Charu Khurana where she mentioned about the adverse oral habits, oral hygiene importance, ill effects of tobacco consumption. The purpose of the Oral Health drive was to create awareness among the students and make them understand the importance of oral health care. Students who required dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental hospital for further treatment.
