celebrated World Oral Health Day by organizing dental check-up and treatment camp on 15 th
March, 2023 (Wednesday) at Divine Dale International School, Sherpur, Pataudi.
The dental team took initiative under guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Associate Dean and
Prof. and Head) and in collaboration with SGT University Admissions Outreach Team. The
dental team was headed by Dr. Surbhi Priyadarshi (Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Public Health
Dentistry) along with 2 postgraduates students Dr. Prince (Dept. of Pedodontics) and Dr.
Vidhi (Dept. of Orthodontics) and 6 interns Preeti, Prachi, Prerna, Sakshi, Ankit and Pawan.
Two attendants Mr. Sunil and Mr. Darshan accompanied the dental team. Dental checkup of
295 students which included 184 boys and 111 girls was done. 11 students were provided
treatment in mobile dental van at camp site.
Every year 20 th March World Oral Health Day is celebrated dedicated to raising global
awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene. So, on this
occasion, oral health talk was rendered by interns with the help of PowerPoint presentation
focusing on the importance of maintenance of oral hygiene, toothbrushing techniques, dental-
related adverse habits and its consequences, progression and treatment of common oral health
diseases in children. Along with this, elements on significance of World Oral Health Day
engrossing the theme for this year ‘Be Proud of Your Mouth’ were included in the
presentation and explained to the students through audiovisual aids. In addition to the
screening as well as health talk, a quiz was organized and students replying positively and
correctly were appreciated with a reward. Demonstration of toothbrushing technique was
given. All the students from classes LKG to 12 th participated actively with enthusiasm in each
organized activity. The school authority felicitated all the members of the dental team with a
token of appreciation.
The camp concluded with a high hope that the team has moved a step forward in creating an
orally healthier community.
