56th International Film Festival of India Set to Conclude with Grand Ceremony in Goa
Panaji, Goa: The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 is set to conclude this evening with a spectacular closing ceremony at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium. This year’s edition brought together filmmakers, artists, industry leaders, and cinema enthusiasts from around the globe to celebrate world cinema and creative excellence.
The grand finale will be attended by several distinguished personalities, including Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju, and Festival Chairman Shekhar Kapur, along with many other dignitaries who played a significant role in shaping the success of IFFI 2025.
Closing Film: ‘A Useful Ghost’
The festival will conclude with the highly anticipated screening of the Thai film A Useful Ghost, directed by Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke. This dark comedy with supernatural elements tells the unusual story of a recently deceased woman who returns as a ghost inhabiting a vacuum cleaner. Her mission is to clean her home while protecting her family from vengeful spirits. The film has already garnered international attention for its unconventional storytelling and blend of genres.

Following the screening, the closing ceremony will feature the announcement of several prestigious awards. The highlight of the event is the coveted Golden Peacock Award, given to the best film of the festival. Other honors to be presented include the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal, Silver Peacock Awards, and the Special Jury Prize, celebrating excellence across global film categories.
