SGT University Hosts 12th Convocation Celebrating Academic Excellence

SGT University successfully concluded its 12th Convocation Ceremony, held over two days, marking a significant milestone in the academic journeys of its graduating students. The ceremony celebrated years of dedication, perseverance, and scholastic achievement, as degrees were conferred across multiple disciplines in a dignified academic setting.

The convocation was graced by an eminent panel of Chief Guests and Guests of Honour, reflecting the university’s strong academic and institutional standing. Distinguished dignitaries included Prof. (Dr.) Sat Prakash Bansal, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh; Prof. (Dr.) Alok Kumar Rai, Director, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta; Prof. (Dr.) Unnat P. Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, Indian Patent Office, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry; and Prof. (Dr.) Diwan Singh Rawat, Vice Chancellor, Kumaun University.

The presence of Prof. (Dr.) O. P. Kalra, Former Vice Chancellor, Pandit B. D. Sharma University and SGT University, and Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Dhawan, Director General, IMS Noida, as Guests of Honour, further enriched the academic significance of the ceremony.

Addressing the graduating students, Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma, Vice Chancellor, SGT University, encouraged them to carry forward the values imbibed during their academic journey. He emphasised that knowledge finds its true purpose when guided by integrity, empathy, discipline, and a sense of social responsibility. He urged students to emerge as lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.

Prof. (Dr.) Alok Kumar Rai, in his address, highlighted the broader role of education in shaping society. Drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, he stated that universities are spaces where intellect, values, and character converge to nurture future leaders. He stressed that the principles gained through education must translate into service to society, aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020.

Prof. (Dr.) Atul Kumar Nasa, Pro Vice Chancellor, SGT University, underscored the institution’s commitment to holistic education. He noted that the academic year 2024–25 marked a defining phase driven by innovation, leadership development, and social impact initiatives aimed at creating future-ready professionals.

The two-day convocation stood as a celebration of academic achievement, leadership, innovation, and national responsibility, reaffirming SGT University’s mission to align education with research excellence and societal needs.
