University organizes lecture cum hands-on workshop

Association of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry constituted under the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, FDS, SGT University, organized a Lecture cum Hands-on workshop on “𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬” in collaboration with 𝐈𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲. Ivoclar Vivadent is a worldwide dental company that produces a range of products and systems for dentists and dental technicians.

The Guest speaker for the event was Dr. Akshay Sharma, Masters in Dental Surgery MDS Prosthodontist & POS Orthodontic Graduate.

Dr. Akshay Sharma gave clinical tips on Class IV composite restorations with an emphasis on shade selection and step-by-step layering techniques from planning to execution.

He also gave a demonstration of Class IV angle build-up right up to finishing and polishing under a Dental operating microscope which was highly appreciated by the audience.

The lecture was followed by a Hands-on workshop on Posterior Class II composite restoration on typodont models and a demonstration of the technique for deep margin elevation for complex proximal restorations.
