Students from the Faculty of Nursing, SGT University participates in the polio vaccination program

The Polio National Immunisation Day, also known as Polio Ravivar, was observed nationwide on Sunday, May 28, 2023. This three-day polio vaccination drive continued from May 28 to May 30, 2023. The polio drive was organized in collaboration with the Govt. Health Department Gurugram. The countrywide campaign was supported by SGT student volunteers, who actively participated in administering polio drops to children under the age of five.

The 103 students from the Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, including 1st-year GNM and ANM students, enthusiastically participated in the polio vaccination program as a part of Countrywide Drive for under-five children.

The student volunteers were divided into different teams and deployed at various booths across the city (Civil Hospital Sector 10, UPHC Feroz Gandhi Colony, and Laxman Vihar in Gurugram) Under the supervision of Ms. Kul. Pooja, Neetu Kumari, Mr. Naveen.

On the first day of the vaccination drive, students focused on administering polio drops to children at designated polio booths.

During the subsequent two days, the student volunteers conducted home visits to maximize the vaccination coverage and ensure that no child was left without the protection of the polio vaccine.

The Polio National Immunisation Day serves as a reminder of the importance of vaccination in safeguarding children’s health and preventing the resurgence of debilitating diseases. The collective efforts made during this three-day drive contribute significantly to the goal of eradicating polio from the country.
