Association for safe medication and department of Pharmacology, SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University organized A one-day Seminar cum workshop “Animal Experimentation and ethics.
The morning seminar session was graced by eminent Guest Speakers- Dr. Inderjeet Yadav, Veterinarian In-charge, NBRC, Manesar, Gurugram, and Dr. Sandeepa Bhan, Scientist A, Shriram Institute of Industrial Research, Delhi who delivered keynote lectures on standard operating procedures, CPCSEA guidelines, and ethics in biomedical research followed by a talk by Dr. Inderjeet Yadav, on the topic on Breeding behavior and Euthanasia; and Dr. Sandeepa Bhan, Scientist on the topic CPCSEA guidelines and standard operating procedures for animal experimental study.
In his inaugural speech Prof (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, principal, SGTCOP highlighted the importance of biomedical research in animals and the objectives of the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals CPCSEA guidelines for animal experimentation.
Dr. Bhalla urged students of SGT to strictly follow the CPCSEA guidelines for their research
The event was convened by Prof (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, principal, SGTCOP and coordinated by advisors Prof (Dr.) Sushma Chaturvedi, HOD (Pharmacology), Dr. Vaibhav Walia, and Co-advisors Ms. Sonika Shrivastav and Ms. Sushma Maratha.
More than 60 participants enrolled in the workshop from various disciplines including faculties, and post-graduate and undergraduate students.
Prof (Dr.) Sushma Chaturvedi, HOD Pharmacology department, SGTCOP proposed a vote of thanks.
