Celebrates International Day of Happiness

Department of Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences and PSYCA, an academic association of the Department hosted an event to commemorate International Day of Happiness on 21st March 2022. Director and Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Kasturba Institute of Psychology and Behavioural Medicine Dr. Pratibha Anand Singh and Founder of Inner Spirit of Life Mr. Amaresh Yogi were the speakers at the event. Advisor of PSYCA Ms. Aastha Dhingra opened the event with a welcome salutation and discussed the importance of happiness in our daily lives and how it may help people to flourish. Advisor Professor Waheeda Khan Associate Dean Professor Dr. N.K. Chandel and HOD, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences Dr. Vikas Sharma elucidated to the audience about the efficacy of simple and thoughtful living. Students of Behavioural Sciences put on enthusiastic and upbeat dancing performances. Mr. Amaresh Yogi, a well-known life coach and yoga instructor was crowned Urban Clap’s most likeable coach in 2017, for his session on “Laughter Yoga” shortly after the dance performance was invited. The session was one-of-a-kind with nonstop laughter and a fantastic experience. Soon after this enjoyable activity, a competition called “DMDDMC2DMMHD” was conducted, with the goal of making the audience and judges laugh in under two minutes. Tanisha Kohli is a first-year Clinical Psychology student, who made cupcakes with a smiley for the professors and guests. The judges, Professor Dr. NK Chandel and Professor Sushil Manav, Dean, Faculty of Mass Communication, declared the winners and distributed the prizes. Dr. Pratibha Anand Singh gave a presentation on “Forgiveness: A Source of Happiness.” She spoke eloquently about how to be happy while being forgiving at the same time. The display of the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences’ recent release of Scripting, the departmental magazine, was also inaugurated, and the entire team was introduced. Assistant Professor and Advisor, PSYCA, Ms. Aastha Dhingra, concluded the occasion with a formal vote of thanks.
