Department of Public Health Dentistry, SGT University, holds medical camp at Kankrola Village

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University conducted oral health screening camp on 15th February 2022 (Tuesday) at Kankrola Village, Gurugram. The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Prof. & Head and Associate Dean). The Dental team was headed by  Dr. Charu Khurana (Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with 1 Intern Ms. Prerna Sehrawat and 1 attendant Mr. Sunil . A total of 45 patients including 18 males and 27 females were examined. Patients were screened for major oral problems namely dental caries, gum problems, missing teeth and other related issues. Patients who required complex dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental Hospital for further procedures.
Oral health education was imparted to the people and proper brushing technique was demonstrated. The general population gave positive feedback and appreciated the check up and patient care provided by the Dental Team . They acknowledged the way the Dental team heard and attended to their problems with compassion.
The team of dentists also expressed their satisfaction in conduction of the whole drive, as awareness on Oral health and utilisation of dental services at rural locations is poor. The purpose of the Oral Health check-up was to create awareness among the community and make them understand the importance of oral health.
