Five-day FDP by Faculty of Physiotherapy concludes in SGT University

Faculty of Physiotherapy took this initiative of organizing a 5 days Faculty Development Program (FDP) entitled “Unfolding the Perspectives of Research in Physiotherapy” from 23rd to 27th November, 2021. Objectives of this FDP were to stimulate the physiotherapy professionals for research, to create a strong knowledge base in research among professionals and to enlighten the culture of research across various educational institutions and organizations. The event began on 23rd November, 2021 with the welcome address by Dean, Faculty of Physiotherapy Prof. Pooja Anand followed by the inauguration by honorable vice chancellor Prof. O.P. Kalra, honorable pro vice chancellor (research) Prof. Sharif Ahmad and Dean FAHS, Prof. M. Ejaz Hussain. This Faculty Development Program was embraced by expert speakers from all over the country. Exemplary lectures were given by renowned personalities such as Research Director, Association of Indian Universities, Delhi Dr. Amarendra Pani, Dr. Geetha R. Menon, Scientist E in Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi, and experts such as Prof. Zahid Ashraf from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi who is a National award recipient from Government of India for his research. Event concluded on 27th November, 2021 by great lectures from experts from Jamia Millia Islamia and Manipal University followed by an online examination to assess the impact of FDP on the research knowledge base of the faculty members. At the end, Valedictory ceremony was felicitated by the honorable Dean, FPHY, Prof. Pooja Anand and honorable Dean, FAHS, Prof. Ejaz Hussain expressing a vote of thanks to the honorable speakers, organizing committee and the participating faculty members. Sessions were extremely informative and interactive for the faculty members. Participants gained insights by asking questions to the honorable speakers. The sessions in this entire FDP were extremely enriching and stimulating for all the physiotherapy professionals. The FDP received an overwhelming response by a tremendous participation by more than 160 participants from all over India.
