Gurugram Police Cyber Security Summer Internship 2025 Kicks Off with 1,100 Interns
Gurugram, June 4, 2025 — The 12th edition of the Gurugram Police Cyber Security Summer Internship (GPCSSI 2025) was formally inaugurated today at DAV Public School, Sector 49, by DCP East Gaurav Rajpurohit. The flagship initiative, which aims to equip students with critical cybersecurity knowledge and skills, has once again garnered nationwide interest with over 12,000 applications.
From this record-breaking pool, 1,100 interns have been selected, comprising 550 Cyber Warriors (undergraduate, postgraduate students, and professionals) and 550 Cyber Ambassadors (students from Grade 9 to 12). The selection reflects a pan-India representation, highlighting the growing awareness of cyber threats and the importance of youth engagement in digital safety.
In his inaugural address, DCP Rajpurohit emphasized the shift from physical crimes to cyber threats, urging young interns to be proactive cyber defenders in their communities. He praised their role as Cyber Ambassadors and Cyber Warriors, vital in spreading cyber hygiene and safe digital practices.
The ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting by DCP Rajpurohit, ACP Cybercrime Pranshu Dewan, and cyber expert Dr Rakshit Tandon. Dr Tandon chronicled the inspirational 12-year journey of the internship, sharing video testimonials from alumni now working in cybersecurity roles across the country.
The audience was further engaged through a powerful nukkad natak (street play) on cybercrime awareness, performed by students of DAV Public School. It conveyed the dangers of digital negligence and the importance of cyber safety compellingly and creatively.
Charu Maini delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of Gurugram Police, school mentors, and the participating students. A police spokesperson shared that interns will now undergo intensive training in cyber tools, investigation techniques, and digital hygiene, complemented by guest lectures from renowned national cyber experts.
The programme will run for a month and conclude with a grand closing ceremony on 2nd July 2025, celebrating a new generation of India’s cyber defenders.
