Haryana labour dept registers unorganized sector workers under E Shram scheme

The Haryana Labour department has started registration of workers working in the unorganised sector workers through the camps organised under E shram scheme.

According to a Haryana government press release, an amount upto ₹ 2 lakh free of cost accident insurance and ₹ 1 lakh financial support in case of permanent amputation will be provided to the registered workers.

The scheme is applicable to all the self-employed and unorganised sector workers.

Construction workers, agricultural labourers, daily wage labourers, carpenters, migrant labourers, MNREGA workers, auto drivers, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers, domestic workers, milk sellers, electricians and street vendors, rickshaw drivers, vegetable vendors, artisans, weavers, plumbers, mid-day meal workers, etc all can be registered under the E Shram scheme.

Only those workers who are not members of the ESIC and EPFO schemes, are not income tax payee and are between the age of 16 to 59 are entitled to be registered under this scheme.

Documents like like Aadhaar card, bank passbook and mobile number (which is linked with Aadhaar) are mandatory for registration.
