Khattar announces extension of Ayushman Bharat benefits to more families; Vij says drug peddlers either leave Haryana or shun drug trafficking

Haryana Government has decided to extend the benefits of Ayushman Bharat to all those families whose annual family income is less than Rs. 1.80 lakh and to those who are not included in Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.

The Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while addressing a Press Conference here today made this announcement. Home and Health Minister, Anil Vij also remained present on this occasion.

The Chief Minister said that the decision of extending the benefits of Ayushmaan Bharat to those having family income less than Rs.1.80 lakh and those who are not included in SECC data has been taken while upholding the spirit of Antyodaya.

The Chief Minister said that with the aim of reaching out to the last person in the pyramid first, Mukhya Mantri Parivar Antyodaya Utthan Yojana has been started by the State Government.

“Under this special Antyodaya  Melas were organised in which around  90,000  eligible families have filled the forms of which  37512 applications for loan approval have been approved,” informed the Chief Minister.

He said that the  second phase of these Melas would start from March 2 to 17, in which around one lakh families would be called. Besides this, in the next year, the series of these Melas would continue.

The Chief Minister said that a detailed State Action Plan has been prepared by the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau after a thorough study on all the aspects related to drugs last year. Village, ward, cluster, sub-division, district and state mission teams have been formed to involve citizens of all age groups in the ‘Yagya of drug-free Haryana’.

The Home Minister Anil Vij who also remained present during the press conference, warned the drug peddlers that either they should stop drug smuggling or they have to leave Haryana.

“Around-the-clock Toll-free no.-90508-91508 has been issued by the Bureau to assist drug victims and to share relevant information about the criminals involved in the illegal drug trade. On this number, any person can give information related to drugs and can fulfill his social responsibility by making a pivotal contribution in the eradication of this social evil from society. The name of the informer is kept confidential,” added Vij.

He said that several awareness campaigns are being organized in educational institutions and villages and cities to make them aware of the ill effects of drugs and further ensure the competition for the eradication of drugs from society.

“Haryana would be made Drug free and for these entire police departments other than Narcotics Department has been directed to tighten the noose around those involved in gambling, liquor smuggling, illegal weapons, besides Drugs.

The home minister shared that a weekly report is being submitted by the Superintendents of Police.
