PM Modi’s Four-State Tour to Boost Development Projects Worth Over ₹75,000 Crore
New Delhi, May 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to kickstart a two-day, four-state tour on Thursday, May 28, aimed at strengthening the nation’s infrastructure and boosting regional development. His journey will begin in Sikkim and continue through West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of key projects worth more than ₹75,000 crore.
Day 1: May 28 – Development Push Across Sikkim, Bengal, and Bihar
PM Modi will begin his visit in Sikkim by participating in the “Sikkim@50: Where Progress Meets Purpose and Nature Nurtures Growth” programme in Namchi at 11 AM. Here, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate a range of projects, including:

A 500-bed District Hospital in Namchi is worth ₹750 crore

A Passenger Ropeway at Sangachoeling, Pelling

A Statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Atal Amrit Udyan in Gangtok
Later in the afternoon, the Prime Minister will head to Alipurduar, West Bengal, to lay the foundation stone for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project covering Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts. Valued at over ₹1,010 crore, the CGD project aims to supply Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to over 2.5 lakh households and establish 19 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations.
By evening, PM Modi will be in Patna, Bihar, to inaugurate the new terminal building of Patna Airport, constructed at a cost of ₹1,200 crore with a capacity to handle 1 crore passengers annually. He will also lay the foundation for a new civil enclave at Bihta Airport (₹1,410 crore), envisioned to serve Patna’s expanding educational hub, which includes IIT Patna and the upcoming NIT Patna.
Day 2: May 30 – Major Announcements in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh
The next morning, PM Modi will address a public function in Karakat, Bihar, and dedicate or lay the foundation for development projects worth ₹48,520 crore. Key announcements include:
