Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s first elevated Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, Haryana. The event saw the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh. During the ceremony, PM Modi also addressed a gathering in Gurugram.

The Dwarka Expressway in Haryana spans 18.9 kilometers, while the Delhi section covers 10.1 kilometers. Notably, it includes tunnels, underpasses, flyovers, and even double-decker flyovers. This connectivity will enhance accessibility between Gurugram and Delhi’s IGI Airport, benefiting both regions and facilitating connectivity within the National Capital Region (NCR). Additionally, residents in new sectors will also benefit from this expressway.

Divisions of the Expressway

The expressway is divided into four segments. The first segment connects from Mahipalpur near Shiv Murti to Dwarka. The second segment links from Dwarka Urban Extension Road (UER) to Bajghera. The third segment extends from Bajghera to Basai Rail Overbridge (Delhi-Haryana border). The fourth segment runs from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. It includes the Cloverleaf Interchange in Gurugram, connecting Delhi-Gurugram Expressway (NH-48) and Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) near Kherki Daula.

19 KM Stretch Passing Through Gurugram

The Dwarka Expressway, costing nearly nine thousand crores, offers a gift of convenience. Out of the total 29.5 kilometers, a 19-kilometer stretch passes through Gurugram. NHAI officials are engaged in improvement and beautification works to give it a final touch. Meanwhile, completion of approximately nine kilometers of work in Delhi is anticipated by June.

This significant infrastructure development promises to enhance connectivity and ease commuting for residents, heralding a new era of progress and development in the region.
