SGT University Launches 2-Week Long Campaign on World No Tobacco Day 2025
On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day 2025, SGT University is taking a powerful stand against tobacco consumption with a dynamic two-week campaign aimed at spreading awareness and fostering a healthier, tobacco-free future. The initiative, jointly organized by the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology and the Department of Public Health Dentistry, promises a wide range of engaging and educational activities.
This year’s campaign is aligned with the WHO theme, “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products.” The goal is to inform the public—especially the youth, about how tobacco companies manipulate marketing strategies to hook individuals into lifelong addiction.
The celebration will feature a variety of events to engage students, faculty, and the broader community. Highlights include impactful health talks by medical experts, a spirited anti-tobacco rally, a thought-provoking webinar, and an awareness-driven nukkad natak (street play). Creative expression will be encouraged through competitions such as logo design, poster making, and extempore speaking, giving participants a platform to raise their voices against tobacco use.
These events are not just about competition—they’re about creating dialogue, educating the masses, and encouraging young minds to take action against one of the world’s leading causes of preventable death. Through this initiative, SGT University reaffirms its commitment to public health and wellness.
Everyone is invited to participate, support, and amplify the message: Say No to Tobacco. Say Yes to Life.
