SGT University celebrates Basant Panchami by worshiping, the Goddess of knowledge

Basant Panchami festival was celebrated with full vivacity and festivity at SGT University, Gurugram on Saturday. Today the program started by seeking the blessings of Goddess Sarasvati. Students of SGT University worshipped the goddess of knowledge. During this event, the Managing Trustee of Dashmesh Educational Charitable Trust, Manmohan Singh Chawla, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Navdeep Singh Tung, Dean – Faculty of Science Prof. Lakhwinder Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology – Prof. Sushil Manav, Dean – Students Welfare Dr. Vijay Sharma and faculty members of the university were present there. The university was decorated with flowers and rangoli. The Basant Panchami festival falls on the fifth day (Panchami) of the Hindu month of Magha. The festival is considered to mark the onset of spring in India. Basant Panchami is said to be an extremely auspicious day, as the devotee’s worship Goddess Saraswati, daughter of Goddess Durga. It is believed that goddess Saraswati, who is the goddess of knowledge, music, arts, science and technology, was born on this day. All the students and Faculty members of SGT University participated enthusiastically in this Basant Panchami festival and celebrated it with the aim of making everyone aware of the history and importance of the day.
