SGT University Organised the “Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat” Cultural Event

SGT University organized “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, a multicultural event involving students from various states. This event included competitions like singing, cooking, ramp walk, and Presentation followed by cultural programs which represent the state folk dance. The main objective of this event was to connect students with their traditional roots. Students from various faculties participated in the event to make it a great success. The event started with lamp lightning followed by a dance performance representing different states. Students beautifully showcased their cultural folk singing like Nepali, Bihari, and many more. Students from various faculties enthusiastically participated in the event and try to give their best.
The students also participated in the traditional cooking competition – ‘Apna Khana’, and showcased the diverse food and produces from Indian states and Nepal as part of the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” celebration.
The participants showcased beautiful dance performances representing their state. The auditorium was full of audiences. In Singing, Competition participants sang traditional folk songs mesmerizing one and all present in the auditorium. Those present in the auditorium dance to the beats of the Punjabi dance performance.
Dr. Vijay Sharma, Dean, Student Welfare Department said that Mrs. Madhupreet Kaur Chawla, Chairperson, Mr. Manmohan Singh Chawla, Managing Trustee, of Dashmesh Education Charitable Trust, believe in providing students opportunities to showcase their talent. Dr. Sharma said that students of Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary (SGT) University from various states represent the multi cultural facet of the university.
At the end competitions results were declared in which students who represented Nepal, Assam and Kerala states in singing won positions, in food competition Rajasthan food got the first prize, Uttarakhand won the second position and Assam food won the third position, followed by Bihar and Punjab, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, Bengal and Manipur won positions in Libaas competition. Special prizes were also delivered from DSW side in the category dance, in which Bihar, Uttarakhand, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Nepal and Assam won the positions.
