SGT University signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Gurgaon: In a significant and important move, SGT College of Pharmacy, a part of SGT University in Gurugram, Haryana, today formalized its bilateral agreement with Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. to collaborate and create opportunities in experiential learning, hands-on training, internships, research projects, and placement opportunities for its students. With SGT University, Akums hopes that they can work on critical medicines that the government is currently importing into India, and instead manufacture them.

Dr. OP Kalra, Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Vikas Dhawan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics); Dr. Atul Nasa, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Pro-Chancellor; and Dr. Vijay Bhalla, Principal of SGT College of Pharmacy, were present for the event on behalf of SGT University. Representatives of Akums Pharmaceuticals, Shri D. C. Jain, Ms. Arushi Jain, and Mr. Sanjay Sharma, were also present for the ceremony.

Saying a few words on the occasion, Dr. OP Kalra remarked, “Down the line, my hope would be that with the help of Akums, we can open a full-fledged pharmacy lab at our campus, which will benefit both the company’s researchers and our students.”

“During my time as the Drug Controller for Delhi, we sent around 15-20 samples of the company’s products for testing. I can say that Akums is one of the rare few companies that has had a 100% pass rate in testing. Their quality is impeccable,” said Dr. Atul Nasa.
